Does anyone know if it's still possible to downgrade to ios 18? My wife's iphone updated to 26 overnight without her consent and she hates it. I'm not much of an apple guy and there is a ton of conflicting and possibly outdated information on the web when I search for this topic, so I don't want to attempt anything unless I can get a fairly recent confirmation that it can be done.
@nasser the only thing really keeping LLMs afloat right now is a mass gaslighting effort to make people think that they work. They don't. LLMs simply just do not accomplish what the fart-huffers think they do, and they never will, because the technology fundamentally does not work that way. Even in the very distorted market of late state capitalism where concentrated wealth can keep irrationality afloat, LLMs will be competing with and lose to organizations that actually produce WORKING STUFF.
@JessTheUnstill@dalias Bickering over the minutiae of the implementation of certificate issuance is at least a little more enlightened than the folks I've encountered who say "google is forcing everyone to use HTTPS, therefore HTTPS is bad". They were still going on about it in the 2020s.
@thomasfuchs@foone they're not interested in recommending what you want to watch, they're interested in recommending what will make them the most money, which is almost never what you want to watch
> I haven't spent a lot of time looking into TeleMessage, but what I did find at a quick glance is that several of the executives on the teams page list Israeli universities in their bios, and the CEO, Guy Levit, says that, "From 1996 until 1999, Guy served as the head of the planning and development of one of the IDF’s Intelligence elite technical units."
@darnell@daringfireball all these concerns about immigration and being disappeared for having thoughts is great for a country that is going to be hosting both the world cup and the olympics during Trump's admin
@anildash the corporate models that are spending billions of dollars to harness a country's worth of power and boils the oceans to train on unethically sourced data results in a service that isn't appropriate for deployment as anything more sophisticated than a toy (despite how people are actually using them). An "organic" version would perform even worse than the corpo ones that are already unpopular and failing.
@thomasfuchs what is it with people and wanting to go to Mars when we haven't set foot on the moon in decades, let alone thought about having people live there, even temporarily. Stop trying to make Mars happen people, it's not going to happen.
@Mrfunkedude we're already seeing quoted posts being implemented client side in some of the new clients that are hitting the various app stores. The client can detect that a link goes to a post and then renders it inline. To everyone else, it looks like a normal link. Eventually I expect most or all clients will adopt this functionality because it's a very popular feature request.
I think the only way to fight this is to set your posts to followers-only.
