I still say that people who argue on Mastodon should be called "Mastobaters".

It works in more ways then one.

I just made a response video on TikTok to someone who said that you shouldn't leave Meta because Zuckerberg WANTS the left to leave and because if you do then your voice will be snuffed out.

I replied that Meta IS NOT all of social media and that there is a BETTER social media out there and that everyone should look up "the fediverse". No ads. No corporate bullshit. All owned and operated by everyday people.

It amazes me how far people will go to stay on Meta. What a load of shit.

There’s a certain kind of irony in the fact that time is running out for TikTok.

Fucking hell people.

If Zuckerberg saying that Facebook will stop fact checking because "fact checkers are politically biased" and that they want to "become more like X" isn't enough for you to dump all Meta services like Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and Whatsapp, then just admit that you don't care about disinformation or facts.

I mean, seriously. Leave. There are other better options.

It's good to recognize that sometimes we get stuck in our feelings. We can assume that some sort of insult or slight was made against us, and because we can be so stuck, we refuse to see the other side.

To me, one of the most important skills one can have, is to be able to stop and recognize when we are wrong, or that "being right" isn't worth the aggravation.

Instead of doubling down ask yourself "Could I be wrong? Is this feeling justified or am I just stuck?"

It might save a friendship.

Just watched a video of a social media "expert" talk about how social media is going to die off soon.

She pointed to algorithms and ads and even AI (see Meta).

I left a comment saying "Be accurate. Corporate social media is dying. Places like Mastodon, PixelFed, PeerTube, and the rest of the Fediverse are thriving."

How in the fuck can you call yourself a "social media expert" and not know about the Fediverse???

Just so you all know, I rarely reply to replies to my posts that miss the mark entirely. I'm not here to argue with people.

I think the next house I live in, I’m going to install floor drains in the bathroom and kitchen. I could even hide it.

And now I’m wondering why I’ve never seen this idea implemented in a house? I don’t see why it couldn’t be done?

And no, nothing overflowed over here. I saw a picture of a bathtub and my ADHD brain just kind of made its way to “floor drains“.
