@CloudyMrs good luck in getting an answer to that one. Or an answer to where the money goes that the UK supposedly spends on Scotland's behalf but not in Scotland. The accounting figures are designed to be opaque. Are proportionately charged for schemes like HS2 line that benefits no one north of Manchester
They sent a letter to us from Rachael Reeves making false claims about SNP.She claims after 17 years of SNP Govt people in Scotland are paying more for less.
Actually we have free prescriptions for all, no tuition fees for students, free bus passes for young people and the over 60's, a child payment of £26.70 for every child under 16, universal free school lunches for primary children, lower dental charges.
@CloudyMrs I have had a lot of unexpected contact with NHS Scotland at 4 different hospitals recently. At all of them I received excellent care from superb staff. I can't rate them too highly. Not at all the nightmare the media like to present
@rad@palestine I think it is a good thing that Israeli families have gone to ICJ with a case against Hamas. The main reason being that ICJ will require evidence for any charges being brought so we are more likely to get closer to discovering what actually happened on 7 October. There are so many claims and counter claims being made of beheaded babies, incidence of rape, etc. Presumably if the ICJ has accepted a case from Israeli families it now must accept cases from thousands of Palestonians
Well done Ireland in leading the way in demanding an immediate ceasefire. Well said First Minister you have the people of Scotland behind you & the majority of the public in the rest of UK too.
@raph it is not Jewish people against Palestinians. Some of the loudest critics of the fascist Zionist Netanyahu & his Government genocidal policies are Jewish people and organisations. Basically it is decent human beings of every faith & ethnicity against a rogue Israeli state that breaks international law & commits war crimes.
@carolw A rather strange position as Zionism affects not only Israeli citizens or Jewish people. You only have to think of the Palestinians killed and driven out their homeland when Israel was founded & in the intervening period. The best interest of Jewish people do not trump the best interests of other groups. All are worthy of equal consideration and none are worthy of special consideration to the detriment of the others. Impartial historians & commentators have much to teach us about Zionism
@carolw sounds rather like conspiracy theory to me without a factual evidence. No Arab leadership attacked the US. There is no such thing as a united Arab leadership. Countries like Saudi Arabia, Iran, Egypt, Lebanon..all have very different foreign policies & relationship with US. The most that can be said is some terrorist groups ( not Arab States)attacked some US targets arguably in retaliation for US foreign policy ( e.g Iraq War).
@kravietz@harriettmb@bobjmsn As we do not have a national identity card & unlike in some EU countries we are not obliged to carry id on is. Resistance to compulsory id cards came from organisations concerned with civil liberty. Voter fraud was not an issue in elections & there was no need for a photo id requirement. It is specifically designed to disenfranchise groups that dont vote Tory. Taken from Trump handbook
