   So, numerous Israeli families went to the ICJ against Hamas, because they are understandably going through hell with their family members being held captive. Nothing wrong with that. I get it and agree.

   I just want you to remember that I call it now, the ICJ will rule against Hamas in no-time, whilst also stalling with providing the Palestinians with any real resolution.

   Edit: Turns out I'm wrong. Explanation below:

     Hate to break it to you but I can already promise you that you've called it wrong, because that's not how international law works. Hamas is not a party to the genocide convention. There is no Palestinian state. The #ICJ cannot rule against Hamas, because they do not represent any sovereign authority recognized by international law; they control no borders, issue no visas, and thus cannot be charged in international criminal court. So you "calling" that ICJ will rule against Hamas is pure fanfic.

     Even if there was a State of #Palestine that was party to the Genocide Convention prior to being occupied by #Israel, Palestinians are protected by Protocol I of the Geneva Conventions, which also denies Israel's right to attack the people they are occupying as "self-defense"

     @ScepticalScot1 @palestine I agree, I'm just afraid the ruling will be quicker and much more decisive than in the case of the South African accusation of genocide that we are witnessing as we speak.

     @rad @palestine I think it is a good thing that Israeli families have gone to ICJ with a case against Hamas. The main reason being that ICJ will require evidence for any charges being brought so we are more likely to get closer to discovering what actually happened on 7 October. There are so many claims and counter claims being made of beheaded babies, incidence of rape, etc.
     Presumably if the ICJ has accepted a case from Israeli families it now must accept cases from thousands of Palestonians
