1/2 "AIPAC and the influence of AIPAC and it's been disastrous to our decision making because politicians are ... thinking is this going to get me elected is this going to get me campaign contributions. So there's AIPAC which is the obvious offender but there's also the arms industry... the arms industry has an intense Lobby in Washington and so when you have the arms industry combined with a pro-Israeli Lobby it's a very very lethal combination" #AIPAC#MilitaryIndustrialComplex#Gaza_genocide
@ayoub@leilashami Thank you for this awarding conversation. I've learnt a lot from your profound assessments of the Syrian situation and its context from various perspectives and analytical levels. 👏
@ayoub@leilashami One more thing: I'd really like to subscribe to your podcast, but i'm not on spotify and i don't intend to do so. Therefore, i'd really appreciate a good old RSS feed, rather than an email notification.🤗
Has anyone ever calculated the #climate-damaging #footprint of these appalling #COP gatherings? The only output of these pointless meetings - apart from PR for the biggest #fossilfuels producing countries - seems to be a considerable amount of additional #greenhouse gas emissions.
@rasmusfleischer no wonder, as the so called reality is in large parts a real abstraction of what is happening. Karl #Marx called it #fetishization, mentioning esp. the "commodity fetish", the "capital fetish" and the "money fetish". From a wider perspective, it's possible to discern analogically a "state fetish", a "law fetish", a "democracy fetish", etc. Maybe in the future (or is it already now) we will be talking about an AI-fetish.
