   It's fascinating how the phrase "realistic music" has popped up in the context of #generative AI.

   As far as I know, the concept of #realism has not really been applied to #music before.

   When some people now claim that a piece of music sounds "realistic" – meaning this as a positive thing – I become curious about the #reality in which these people imagine themselves to live!

     @rasmusfleischer Do they mean music that doesn’t sound AI-generated? Or music that doesn’t sound electronic at all? Or music with a singer who sounds human?

     no wonder, as the so called reality is in large parts a real abstraction of what is happening. Karl #Marx called it #fetishization, mentioning esp. the "commodity fetish", the "capital fetish" and the "money fetish". From a wider perspective, it's possible to discern analogically a "state fetish", a "law fetish", a "democracy fetish", etc.
     Maybe in the future (or is it already now) we will be talking about an AI-fetish.
