@futurebird Authors and narrators make royalties off of library purchases so if you see that your local library doesn’t have a book in your audible library, ask your local library to purchase the audiobook. Narrators and authors make money from library purchases

I am thoroughly disgusted by how blithely people will tolerate thousands of people being slaughtered in other countries, but pretend to some moral high-ground of denying a person who wants to die the right to do so painlessly.

I am very glad to now be living in a country where euthanasia is legal for terminal disease. And 86% of the population of this country supports it.

But what I find fucking outrageous in the UK is that they practiced a shit-ton of involuntary euthanasia during the pandemic, but the MPs are clutching their fucking pearls and clinging to their religious convictions now.

I'm listening to audiobook The Coming of the Third Reich by Richard J. Evans and the first chapters so far have covered in depth a range of (for lack of a better word) pressures on/in German society in the years between the turn of the 20th Century, mostly following WWI, years before the rise of Hitler, and boy, are there a ton of echoes of all this in the U.S. today. Whew. Not good. Ominous. #history
