▪ I opt in to the feature
▪ I reply to a post
▪ my client notices I'm not following the poster
▪ and shows me (or offers to show me) the profile of the poster (exactly as published by the poster).

Visualising it reminds me: showing me a no-content profile would warn me that I might be replying to a troll, and I'd investigate before posting! \o/

I imagine seeing, for ex. a #blackLivesMatter tag on a profile, or "professor of AI ethics" - which might influence the tone of my reply. I like it!

@ami_angelwings frankly, I always have to look it up: are we switching TO dst or FROM it? So confusing. And I never use DST or EST as a result, always "Eastern Time" or "New York" instead. And then there's the issue of booking trans-atlantic meetings 🙈

Elimination would suit me fine! 💯

@skaly I'm sorry to hear it.
An idea: I use lists instead of the timelines. So I see only who I want to see, in a given list. Maybe make a Safe list , where you will see ppl you generally trust. Another one for trusted news sources, maybe.bm I have >12 lists. There are days I ignore local news. just check my Friends list & my list of other positive ppl. You can also make a list for a hqshtag, ex: #toronto, or #jewellery.
(A good client helps: on android try @megalodon, it's good for lists.)

Why do ppl leave mstdn?

@shsbxheb @philip_cardella @TonyStark I'm Canadian, so that was news to me. I find the US electoral process atrange and, at times, disturbing. Case in point :-\

@philip_cardella @TonyStark @shsbxheb I volunteered in our recent mayoral by-election. It was important, the city is a shambles, and voter turnout was historically terrible :-(
We raised voter turnout 25% and elected the city's first progressive mayor in 12 years!!
I'm glad I volunteered. \o/

Friends:
The men, women and children who perished in extermination camps had *lives*. They were grandparents, musicians, rabbis, schoolgirls, craftsmen, mothers, shopkeepers, toddlers, artists. They played, created, dreamed, wondered, wrote, cooked, studied, taught, cared for others, were imperfect, and were loved.

We must not forget them.
