Twitter owner Elon Musk just blamed the ADL, a Jewish advocacy organization, for the explosion of antisemitism on his platform.

Blaming Jewish people or groups for the hatred of Jewish people is the same perverted logic found in Hitler's "Mein Kampf."

Musk is the world's richest person and his companies are paid billions by the US government.

He posted the message in conversation with Keith Woods, an Irish neo-Nazi whose account Musk reinstated in April a few months after buying Twitter.

Angelo John Gage, a neo-Nazi who recently started using the name "Lucas Gage" and whose Twitter feed is a constant stream of antisemitism and racism, says he received his first payment through the platform's revenue sharing system.

It's was $165.52 — not much, obviously. But it's also not nothing.

Elon Musk has not only welcomed Nazis. He's now directly paying them too.

Police in Marion, Kansas (population 1,852) effectively shut down the town's only newspaper on Friday, raiding it and seizing most of its equipment, including cell phones of its journalists.

The raid took place after the paper received information that a local restaurant owner, who's very politically connected, had been arrested for drunken driving.

If you're a journalist and still active on Twitter, you're helping prop up a company that hates you and everything you do. Continuing to give your time and effort to Elon Musk is a self-inflicted wound that won't stop bleeding until you tend to it. Many of your readers have already exited. You should too.

@dangillmor I haven't been on social media much this year due to health reasons, but the news that Twitter is now funneling hundreds of thousands of dollars in ad revenue to the kinds of extremists you mention was a deal breaker for me.

I justified it before because there are still important folks (like the disability community) that are kind of stuck there or haven't found another platform yet. But I'm not going to be a party to financially supporting bigots.

Mastodon should have been and still should be the platform where everyone lands. Its flaws (and there are some real ones) are minimal compared to Nazi dogpiles or crypto-platform nonsense everywhere else.

Neo-Nazis today doxed journalist Hilary Sargent, including posting where they think she lives, the name of her young son and more. They claim she runs some anonymous Twitter account. I can say unequivocally they're wrong.

Sargent isn't involved at all in the operation of that anonymous Twitter account. Period. The neo-Nazis got this wrong, as Nazis tend to do. But the false info branding her an "anti-white" extremist has rapidly spread, putting Sargent and her family in immediate danger. (1/2)
