When I read this, several dumplings, ordered by my friends a few months ago, floated by my mind’s eye.

I liked chexmix back in the day, but have to bust the bubble - I did not develop mind control powers. Maybe it’s because I didn’t walk in circles or on the balls of my feet as this crazy racist dude prescribed.

I’m getting such a kick out imagining it, though: all those wannabe masterace mind control critters walking in non-sensical shapes, collecting pebbles, eating bland cereal.

Ngl, water drops falling on a water surface always looks kind of cool. But it probably looks even better in a museum.

Either way, whenever the local creek swells with rain, I always have to take a picture in awe. I think years of drought have permanently warped my Californian mind.

So I know I would have been one of those people in the museum taking pictures…

There is a coup, and I also know I can count on my circle of family and friends.

There has been an extended turn towards more friends and family meetings. In fact, I’m meeting the extended networks of friends and friends and seeing that we are not alone, and against this shit.

And we will protect each other.

Sidenote: I’ve seen people connecting their individual their friends groups from different states online during the lockdown, and then meet in person years later.

I’ll never knock those little discord gamer nerds again.

I suspect we also just don’t have the requisite fandoms.

I see that the StarTrek fandom is somewhat represented here, but many other things, anime, games, music, etc. just doesn’t seem to have that same reach or critical mass (yet, I hope).

All their policing boiled down to the willingness of a witness to come forward.

Interesting enough, a lot of the discourse we see online indicates that people wouldn’t have wanted to come forward.

Those are the dynamics that can make or break an investigation like that.

I am thinking now is a good time for checking that mutual aid hashtag.

I’m also hoping to crowdsource information on businesses to avoid/ and others to frequent for ethical reasons. (Republican donors are on my avoid list)

A good/ bad list, if you will.

That might be handy in the future for further action. I notice that we all know businesses that are small and that we want to support, but we don’t necessarily tell each other about it and then everyone duplicates their research

On that note: I found it pretty difficult to find information about candidates for our school district.

I guess that is a good thing, in a way, because nobody has done anything demonstrably crazy, but I wish I knew more. I am going by one article and two websites (2 candidates have a personal website).

City council was easier. We have some obvious anti-housing candidates, and they’re spicy, so they stick out.
