What would be very useful would be a way to separate one's posts by categories...

Main use case : I may want to follow Feld (just an example) for his technical insights, and not be that interested by his shitposting.
And of course I have no business telling him what he should post or not post, but being able to separate them and see only those I want to see would be really nice.

Thing is, I approve of the military operation of Hamas and of the prowess they deployed in it.
I still condemn that most of it was dedicated to war crimes against civilians (though reservists should not count as civilians).

If your dog kills you, you deserved it. If it kills your child, you still deserved it but the child did not.
And Palestinians are not dogs, even if they have been treated like ones by nearly everyone (which Varoufakis very rightly points).

I entirely agree with you.
But he clearly states that he won't condemn the Hamas attack.
I understand why, and agree with him considering who he's answering to.
But as a general position, it's a problem to equate deliberate targeting of civilians with taking arms against the oppressor.

Interesting, and probably valid at his level, but still deliberate targeting of civilians is a war crime, and something that is NOT equal to armed resistance.

I recently read the Tulsa Massacre article and it seemed to claim that basically the Blacks were to blame for it.
It was very carefully written so as not to claim exactly that but let the reader reach this conclusion by him/herself.
I don't know enough about this part of history to be able to pinpoint where exactly the article manipulates the truth, but I'm quite convinced that "the Blacks did it to themselves" is not exactly what one is supposed to learn from the Tulsa Massacre.

Creating new threads on a lemmy instance you're not registered on could be legitimely considered not a good idea, also.

What I don't understand is why when I click on a lemmy post on Mastodon to open it on a browser, it gives me an error 404...

Actually I don't put description on the images I toot there, usually because they're just funny ones and it stops being funny if it has to be described/explained so the extra work seems pointless to me.

Would you consider that acceptable ? When do you believe it is important to describe images ?
