On another different line of thought/software, I had really great experiences with Zulip (https://zulip.com/).
What makes it great from my POV is the serious thread model. It helps to know what is happening, keep context, focus on what matters for you (including notificacions), mark as done, etc.
It is not federated, but it is Free Software and we can self-host it.
Anyone else tried it? Do we want to make a test?

There is (or was, at least) a double but effective web client really, I've used it a long time ago.
I will search for it. :)
@ntnsndr
And what are your thoughts about the experience up to now? Is it useful? How? :)
@ntnsndr
Seems great! What model are you using? :)
@ntnsndr Ah, yes, branding... Such an important thing, uh! ;DDD
@ntnsndr Sadly, I believe that yes. :(
Also, you cannot search for info in that image. So it takes space + it isn't accessible. All in the sake of... can someone remind me? ;DDD
I've loved it too, but some decisions were a bit too much for me. However, I wanted to stay near (and never use chrome) so I'm using Librewolf.
And I'm loving it. :)
I may, depending on the date (I'll be offline for some days in January). :)
What are the role responsibilities?
The book cited before has something about non-rivalrous resources in #Commons. Also, many other great insights and patterns learned from many different Commons around the world.
One could think that non-rivalrous resources would be easier to co-manage than rivalrous ones, but the issue definitively deserves some thoughts... :)
For those interested in advancements in Commons after Ostrom , Silke Helfrich and David Bollier did great work on those patterns and more in their excellent book http://freefairandalive.org/

It is interesting that the so called "tragedy of the commons" is really "the tragedy of the lack of Commons" since in the case of a real, alive Commons, they would have cared together the common resource.
This can be done with strategies as "pool, cap and divide up" or "pool, cap and mutualize", or "pool and share" any of other many existent possibilities as they been doing for millennia before capitalism even existed.

@humanetech
Great perception!
Of course not.. It should show at least the (hopefully clear) title, with more metadata on hover (like creation date, amount of comments, etc.).
@humanetech
Why must it be Ubuntu? Other great distributions may not have that issue... (I use Debian, but there are many great Linuxes in the wild). :blobaww:
I never did distro hopping and stabilized on Debian a long time ago so, completely understood (even if it was a fun time tasting a few candy). ;P
If Ubuntu is your choice and you want a productive machine ASAP, I've heard good things on that front about Linux Mint, and it's community is not small.
Don't know about using it for coding, though...
