Listening to @benny from #AlmaLinux with her day 2 keynote at #SFSCon about "Building a No Drama Community"
@luis_in_brief Wag The Dog?
Pleased to see the FSF is also taking the AI bubble seriously.

I've been testing a federated classified ads server, flohmarkt ("Flea Market") which I think is a promising idea for promoting a circular economy among friends. Details on my hub.
It raises quite a few questions for me though - it's going to need more trust & safety features than other #Activitypub applications for example.
Notable points from #Crowdstrike CEO message:
* This is a minor outage that only affects Windows (so it's no biggie)
* We are working with impacted customers (who are to blame, not us)
* Please only use official channels (the press is biased)
* [...] (I do not intend to apologise)
Guessing they will soon have some vacancies...

Switzerland passes law requiring #OpenSource software in the public sector. "All public bodies must disclose the source code of software developed by or for them, unless precluded by third-party rights or security concerns" Well done @maemst, great work!
@cpswan I am watching that case with great interest...
@Suiseiseki
I wrote my view on this here: https://the.webm.ink/getting-back-to-a-social-frame
@Suiseiseki
That's what I do. That's what everyone I know does. It is no longer 2001.
IBM CEO: "“If you want people to contribute, it has to be clearly open source, it cannot actually just be open source marketing,”
A small change to the most recent (Parliament-approved) version of the Cyber Resilience Act (#CRA) is the addition of a requirement that software be "openly shared" in order for the European Union to consider it #OpenSource in relation to the CRA.
All my Debians just got an update, which is on balance comforting.
@Exxo
I focus on CLA because most projects use a license with at least a patent waiver and startups using rights-ratchet usually want to retain full patent leverage for their VCs so don't want to be subject to the license themselves. But in this case I don't think Redis started out as a rights-ratchet
@msw We pointed out the errors in that article and they mostly removed them.
Want to find our more about @almalinux ? Join us at #AlmaLinux Day on March 18th in Germany (same location as #CloudFest)
@dentangle
My hunch would be they are inherited from CloudFest who are hosting, but I'd defer to @almalinux as I am just a guest not the organiser.
The final version of the #CRA is now public and it seems the risks we worried about all last year have been addressed.
Yes, the regulators listened. And they are back at #FOSDEM to tell us about it.
