@carlmalamud It's excellent timing as the EU is currently deciding whether regulation 1025/2012 needs revision. This case makes it exceptionally clear that, whatever the outcome of the case, a change is definitely needed to ensure harmonised standards are freely available as the law requires.

@daniel No, the Unit Rates URL on https://octopus.energy/dashboard/new/accounts/personal-details/api-access is showing the wrong tariff code - I gather Octopus now know and will fix it.

@daniel They are, I think they are using the account API to get the tariff.

@daniel OK, I had a reply from Phil at #Octopus who tells me we are on tariff BB-24-04-03 and that the info at https://octopus.energy/dashboard/new/accounts/personal-details/api-access is actually wrong!

@daniel I may be wrong of course - my API page still shows the old tariff - but I did not find it listed at https://api.octopus.energy/v1/products/ so picked the most likely suspect and found the prices matched the ones in the Octopus Android app...

@daniel As far as I can tell #Octopus has silently changed the tariff to AGILE-24-10-01 so I have changed my displays to use https://api.octopus.energy/v1/products/AGILE-24-10-01/electricity-tariffs/E-1R-AGILE-24-10-01-H/standard-unit-rates/

No reply from Octopus themselves yet though.

A significant change of objective has quietly happened to the #standards system in #Europe, with the transformation of standards from a tool to promote #interoperability to a mechanism to comply with the law.

Yet the toleration of #patents in standards remains, meaning complying with the law may require a relationship with the corporations controlling the market. Surely this is anti-competitive and reverses the very purpose of standards?
