@overholt @jessamyn I’ve never understood how you can claim rights in a mechanical copy. I know that archives do, but I can’t imagine that it would survive a legal challenge. That said, yeah for HL’s sensible approach!

@webmink @carlmalamud Apologize that I haven't read the documents, but is there proof that ISO income from selling documents is what sustains the standards effort? Having watched W3C diminish due to lack of $$ I am concerned that we need some new approach to funding standards. (I agree that standards behind paywalls are "standard" only for the few.)

@nemobis "We didn't kill any innocent people in 2022" is an amazing thing to brag about, since it's being touted as admirable when it should be the default. If I announced "I didn't run over any dogs in 2022" you would surely wonder about all of the other years.

The Internet Archive has announced the end of the lawsuit over controlled digital lending, but their blog post is very brief. Does anyone have a link to the actual legal document that declares this?
