@SK1ZM@Xenophon@ProbablyAnotherSuiAlt Well I don't, but as a mother I can imagine the revulsion they'd feel if they knew anything about what you're actually like. Imagine holding your child, feeding him, bathing him, dreaming of him growing up and being proud of him and then seeing this. Wow. I'd be so fucking depressed, like reevaluating everything I did. I always wonder how Ted Bundy's mom felt for example. Do you think your mom thinks about it?
It's weird when you think about it how the demographic of people who are most pro "poisoning children with cross sex hormones which can lead to sterility" are now advocating for the genocide of another group of people. I mean who saw that coming? The media told us they were liberals and we were the ye olde bigots who needed to get with the times
sad lol

Muff Bungler ??️Sooo I'm in a small trade and everyone knows someone. My class teacher met my boss a bit ago and called him "cocky." YUP. I confessed my boss told me I was likely going to fail at transitioning into the position I want. There was another guy still in the class and he went "THAT'S MESSED UP." Sometimes it's nice to be validated. Later we were alone and he was like "Don't take this the wrong way... But a lot of guys won't even hire women into that job. My boss told me he won't."
OH WORD? HA.
it's so funny to me that the trades bang on about getting women in and my mechanical company has a DEI committee, and yet. We get in and there's nowhere to go. They don't want us in the field doing metalwork as journeymen, or being foremen, or doing computer like I'm doing. Where are all these diversity recruits to go?
The role I'm in now is like a very technical PM. They want me as a PM, which they see as secretaries I think. I've lasted 3x longer than most of the very few women in my department.
Sometimes I think about joining the DEI committee and weaponizing them against the hiring and retention practices of women in my department.
@polarisera It is absolutely bonkers what women in construction deal with daily. Even now that I'm in an office, I fight for every penny of my total compensation package.
@amerika I agree with the Jimmy Carter part overall considering the times we're in economically, but there's more than soupçon of Nixon in there. I think he's distinguished himself as uniquely terrible on every front. I rolled my eyes when they elected him but I honestly did not think it would go this poorly.
@LadyMont I cannot even conceive of having the level of trust required to have a male doctor. I'm not blaming this poor young woman. And IUDs can be a nightmare all on their own--I can still viscerally remember that pain. It's overwhelming sometimes when I think about what women go through. I've only had a fraction of the experiences and it's enough.
