@Biff @KeepTakingTheSoma My bet is on the Arc Foundation getting into the schools.

@FeartnTired @HebrideanHecate Exactly. We have the same issue here. Until they address the reasons WHY no one wants to do these jobs, it won't get any better.

@HebrideanHecate @KeepTakingTheSoma We actually had a conversation about this yesterday in the lunch room. We have a handful of girls who are chronically absent. they show up when they get close to meeting the threshold for the school to contact authorities. They come in for a few days and then start up again. In one case, the dad (mom doesn't seem to be around) doesn't check his emails (one is automatically sent when an absence is registered) and only reacts when the principal calls him. He leaves for work before his daughters leave for school and doesn't make sure that they do. The others seem to have given up or don't seem too concerned. It's fucking baffling.

@HebrideanHecate @KeepTakingTheSoma Yeah, I saw that. We've given kids far more power than they are equipped for.

@HebrideanHecate @KeepTakingTheSoma Same thing here. The behaviour is appalling and some of them want their work pre-evaluated. They will do part of it, then want it checked so they can hand in a corrected copy. One of my worst offenders for this will chat with her friends during lessons and then come to me to basically give her the answers. Many of them also can't spell for shit and the handwriting is near illegible.

@HebrideanHecate @Chronic-Yonic Yup. Gotta make up my mind soon. I know who I don't want to vote for, but I'm stuck between two that I could, in good conscience, vote for.

@Chronic-Yonic And here's the list of those who voted for it in Canada (and those who didn't):

Oh, I fucking hope this comes up in the debates. Or at least gets more media attention.

@FeartnTired Speaking of knitting - someone accidentally cast on another pair of socks ..

@FeartnTired I don't mind purling and have no intention of learning how to knit backwards to avoid it. The only time I found it more difficult was when I did the stranded colourwork with the yarn in both hands, so purling continental with an extra yarn in the way. And even then it wasn't so bad.

@KeepTakingTheSoma @LadyMont Last time I found a bra I liked, I waited for a sale and bought three more. And I put the size, model, and brand info in a note on my phone.

@EatKnitSleepAgain @FeartnTired That's what I am planning. Going to leave long tails to weave in so it doesn't go anywhere.
In other news: have finished second sock, just need to weave in ends and fix the aforementioned stitch.
Have learned that I hate doing wrap and turn short rows and Jenny's Super Stretchy Bind Off is more faffy than it is worth.

@FeartnTired
Need knitting advice:
I dropped a stitch waaaay down the front of the sock. Like, before the heel. There is no way I am ripping that far back. I have no idea how I didn't notice, but I didn't. I have the stitch secured and I will fix the hole when I weave in my ends. My question is: should I plop in an increase now (about half way up the leg) or wait until the round before the ribbing where it should easily hide? The gauge is 8 sts/inch with 64 sts/round so I don't think one missing stitch will make much of a difference in the fit.

@Chronic-Yonic Someone asked if male journalists would be allowed in the female locker rooms and, as far as I am aware, letting any journalists, especially with cameras, is not a thing in female sports. So maybe the solution is to let the athletes shower and change before letting any journalists have access to them. Then again, men are much more exhibitionist than women.

@KeepTakingTheSoma @HebrideanHecate It's hard to tell the two parties apart these days, they are so far up each other's asses.

@HebrideanHecate @KeepTakingTheSoma He's not in Trudeau's cabinet, he is the leader of the federal New Democratic Party. Since the Liberals have a minority government, the NDP have been propping them up in exchange for influence. The tranny shit started here from them. Trudeau's first mandate was a majority, but he and the NDP had spent the whole election campaign trying to out-woke each other and he integrated a lot of their ideas.

@RadicalCartoons @KeepTakingTheSoma @TriptychTwinsRidesAgain One thing that stood out to me was the one man repeatedly asking KJK if she was married. WTF did that have to do with anything she was saying?
