No, the fact that the IPFS is not on a blockchain is significant. The most significant difference is in its low-effort and low-cost deployment as compared to the blockchain.

Its also the first implementation of a technology that is capable to evolve, and should evolve into something more substantial.

I am not going to keep arguing with you about preserving political lies, garbage and shit is just as important than preserving stupid NFTs.

Lets not change the context, all I was saying immutable storage serve a purpose to preserve evidence, and people who refuse to use it going to draw attention to themselves.

OK, so let me try and understand: You are saying that a lie recorded to immutable storage is going to be used to authenticate the lie, the immutable fact going to provide authenticity?

I wrote this before. Crime is paramount. You cannot protect something illegitimate without committing more illegitimate. That is what "paramount" means.

The second part you got right, committing something illegitimate to immutable storage is the best way to preserve self-incriminating evidence.

Example - crimes rates. Flip the crime rates between black and whites and commit the data to immutable storage. Then someone else comes, and claims that in that neighborhood there is only is only a single family that is considered "white" everyone else black, and the data about 1 black and 50 white people in prison does not add up.

You cannot switch the numbers back and forth as you would like, you are caught in a lie.

Lets make some specific example because I am tired of generalizations.

A few years ago I learned about the Interplanetary File System and later about blockchains. This happened during the COVID event, where I started questioning why there are so many "conclusions" about a still-ongoing event.

Then I started questioning the charts and graphs, more accurately the data used to make those charts.

To make long story short - today I do not trust ANYTHING that is not archived to immutable storage. I do not trust election results, crime statistics, I will not trust the next Census results.

There is no argument against archiving public data to immutable storage, and going forward anyone who argues against it is a suspected fraudster.

There is no amount or type of propaganda that can debate what I wrote here.

We have a lot of real-science to do for sure.

We cannot co-exists with all the suicidal tendencies of "liberalism", we need to start institutionalizing people.

I have no problem forcing people to move to states like California. Illinois is DEEP, DEEP RED if you take away the fraud baked into the State Constitution and State Laws.

Something rational and substantial needs to be done.

People around me are constantly struggling with fiances. I cannot talk to a single relative, a co-worker who is not knee-deep in debt of rent or mortgage, car payment, credit cards.

According to your reasoning this should spill over me.

Again, when you see or read something consequential, and you do not use it for positive reinforcement, you will end up on the wrong side.

We are not talking about me forced to smile at people who hate me for being an old white male. We are talking about them being at financial dire straight, still wearing face masks, and hating me.

They are repeating the lies which is helping me to see the consequential things and use them for positive reinforcement.

Besides a lot of other "religions" and "philosophies" Gnosticism would not exists if humanity had certain knowledge about the existence of God.

There are plenty of things which require know evidence. For example, the same people who installed Joe Biden going to cheat and lie their asses off to stay in place.

How do I know this, must I prove this?

Until the last few decades people had no model about the evolution of the Universe. Not a good or bad model, not a modest or extravagant model, all Humanity had was theories and speculations.

Today we have some early models, and we are slowly realizing that the universe is still in the earliest "embryonic state". The Universe is so young that some parts of it like Black Dwarfs had no time to come to existence yet. It turns out after around 10 trillions years had passed (around a 1000 times of the present age of the Universe) the surface of the white dwarf will have sufficiently dropped in temperature, and the Universe will possess that brand new type of object: a black dwarf star.

God has never stopped talking to those with genuine humility, because they found and accepted their purpose in the Creation.

In the Genesis there is the "God created the Universe in six days" thing.

Clearly this text was written before the individual who first wrote and BELIEVED this could not possibly had a solid understanding of the concept of a "day". A "day" on Triton, for example, comes and goes seemingly predictable, and if you consider a celestial system described as the "three-body problem" the pattern is truly unpredictable.

So, do I believe in the Genesis? No, I do not believe God created the Universe in 6 days. The best I do is to believe that God indeed created the Universe.

I leave it up to God to decide regarding the consequences for my denial.

Lets assume for a second that we are all dependent on the upstream, and the best we can do is maintain a safe and secure system to a practical level.

What is the return in trying to compromise a single-user system, which has no data and it will shut down by the ISP for sending out traffic under the suspicion of a DoS attack?

I had nodes hijacked before - I was notified and I rebuilt them new, for a different purpose in less than one hour.

There is bickering about theoretical stuff, and there is everything else that is practical and predictable.

You cannot create your own SSL certificate and expect it to work on the internet in the browser.

There was an effort once called the DANE but it failed so we have Let's Encrypt instead, which works well-enough.

Blockchains are slowly transferring us away from all the nightmare of DNS and SSL all that crap, so don't expect a lot of new RFCs that will allow your self-issued (not self-signed) certificates to evolve.

Go to a local machine shop, tool and die shop, welder shop and pay upfront. They have drops of fresh stock metal and sometimes they have dead stock.

I built a few of these with cement shoes, and I started doing it when someone insisted to buy the one I used at the time. Its not a business, its more likely a conversation topic.

If you weld this is a must, but I also cast aluminum and do other perilous stuff that's hot and or noisy.
