@kim_harding We want slow tourism. NC500 people blitz through in over-powered cars, treat Caithness like some scenic backdrop on their high speed weekend jaunt, spend one night in an AirBnB, spend as little as possible money and leave behind tons of air pollution.

It's STILL snowing. Around here, snow just usually melts as soon as it hits the ground, so this is amazing! Scottish weather, eh?

@persagen Cool statue. But note that the "Celts" were not an indigenous people in Britain, but migrated there from the continent. They were pushed back into Scotland and Wales by the Romans.

In Scotland the Picts were around before the Celts arrived, and cohabited with them. No one knows where the Picts came from.

Keltoi was a name given by the Greeks to a tribe of people living in the south of France. It was not what they called themselves.

@feorag Everyone I know has, or has just had the norovirus, aka winter vomiting flu. Was awful, awful, awful. I read somewhere they are working on a vaccine for it, so fingers crossed that comes out soon!

TBH, this seems worse than having the road blocked by climate activists for a few minutes, much less talk about doing so on a Zoom call.

@wiredfire @xs4me2 You can believe that, if it makes you feel better. But as long as there is still nuclear, and fossil fuels are still being burnt, and we are asked to keep our power usage down for essential things, and as long as the earth's climate continues being disrupted, then I'm afraid there's no excuse for it.
