8 years ago I took a guided tour of Intalco in Bellingham, WA. By their briefings, it was one of only 4 full time aluminum smelting facilities left in the USA.

It has since closed down.

Perhaps we should have our own aluminum production here before we nuke the incoming supply from abroad. China is a major exporter in part because the bauxite is processed in Australia, closer to them. Without our own production capacity, nor the ability to get it up and online for years, the tariff does nothing for security, but it does fill the treasury coffers for future raiding..., by Trump's oligarchy.

I've mentioned this before, and agree with you, however...

Musk is more than just Musk, now. The question arises how to handle items he has a US security interest in, and how to divest his wealth and divvie up the parcels to the proper stakeholders. He can't be allowed to just "walk away."

Anyway, that's the news from Flogiston Paradise. Here on Earth 1, I think we've got a fair idea how this ISN'T going down!

I'm bewildered about the Right's interpretation of comedy. What they qualify as a joke has none of the classic elements of joke construction (per O'Shannon). It relies solely on offense or cruelty, which CAN be comedically incorporated, but needs the rest of the structure to actually convey humor.

It comes out as pure mean.

He has an interesting story. Wiki doesn't seem to mention it, but my understanding was, he was largely run out of Europe on a rail. That he was up on charges, and Franklin's offer was a mutually acceptable solution for all.

Should the public NOT orchestrate a campaign when a judge REFUSES to hold a hearing on a person duly indicted?

Do we really have to resort to the days of threatening lynching, in order to force judges to fulfill their public responsibility of holding a trial, to avoid mob justice? That's why we as a society HAVE judges, and why trials have well established procedures, to avoid such mayhem.

Cannon has already failed at her job. In one of the most important cases this country has seen. She needs removal, to protect the public interest. And the public interest is in maintaining societal peace. If the court's administration cannot do that, then all bets are off.

Of course, this is facially true, but there's a deeper nugget in here.

The same people she later accused of stealing, were the ones she initially thought were the chumps. The ones she was pulling something over, on!

Of course, this is anecdotal, and shows how, within Christianity, a mere 95% of a group can ruin it for the other 5%.

It's operating like a micro-cap. I would suspect those giving it that evaluation are using current bid price, and pretending there's deep enough demand that the market price will stay there.

My initial contention is that demand at the current price is as deep as the Republican gene pool.

Time will flesh out what's happening here. Once the facts start coming in, I reserve the right to update.
