I think kudos to Blue Yonder, they clearly haven't paid the Termite ransomware group extortion attempt as the data is still sat there.
My view in these things is don't pay as aside from the obvious, the data will disappear anyway -- ransomware groups can't afford to keep it online for long. Also, it gives you the option of downloading a free backup of your own data.

Some Election Thoughts That Are Tumbling Around in My Head:
I'm going to say some positive ones, because you know what, there's already enough negativity in the world.
A big comfort to me this week has been watching Kamala Harris pack out stadiums with enthusiastic crowds. Kamala is giving concise upbeat speeches with actual plans for the future and hope for America.
Trump, on the other hand, has had underwhelming attendance, with organizers grouping people together and closing off sections of auditoriums to make it look like larger crowds. Trump has largely been negative and rambling, saying America is a mess and garbage. Him and his cronies literally cannot stop shitting on entire groups of people every time they open their mouths. I don't want to toot his horn too much, but Donald Trump has always been.a dynamic and charismatic speaker, he knows how to work a crowd, even if most of what he says is lies, but I just haven't seen it this time around, he looks tired, he can't answer questions even with lies, he often seems incoherent, the energy is simply not there.
My husband commented that the guests and celebrities at Trump rallies look like they tried calling the first 100 people on their list, and then had to pick up the DO NOT CALL list. I'm mostly putting this here, because that made me laugh, but also while Kamala has had JLo, Beyonce, Oprah, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga...the list goes on, Trump had a very tired and weak looking Hulk Hogan and Herschel Walker, who couldn't even get his name right.
@BeAware oh, it is not that you can't get valuable human communication out of interacting this way. But you also pick up a lot of side-effects along the way (like dealing with said toxic persons).
There are cases where this type of comms is useful. I advocated fedi AS/AP for years (and now still do that, albeit with a different approach). So a larger audience helps there.
My account is less useful for different, more intimate kinds of interactions. Microblogging isn't that universal hammer :)
It's operating like a micro-cap. I would suspect those giving it that evaluation are using current bid price, and pretending there's deep enough demand that the market price will stay there.
My initial contention is that demand at the current price is as deep as the Republican gene pool.
Time will flesh out what's happening here. Once the facts start coming in, I reserve the right to update.
@AnnemarieBridy
Yeah, “designed” may be a misnomer there.
My naïve, foolish, ignorant, IANAL reading of copyright law is that it is economic impact, not design intent, that determines harm. But…maybe the two lawyers here can set me straight on that!
@thomrstrom I became aware of the CVE yesterday when a ticket was opened about it in Fedora. I'm a maintainer of the Fedora package so I immediately checked if AlmaLinux/RHEL were vulnerable too and proceeded from there.
My PR has been rejected by RH and I'm not terribly sure why. At least I tried, I guess, and since AlmaLinux isn't targeting 1:1 we have the patch and RHEL won't I suppose.
