@BowsacNoodle If you enable sleep tracking in Pokemon Go, when you wake up you earn another heart with your buddy pokemon, implying it loves you more after last night.
@Crux_Invictus@WoodenDoorInspector Once again, the Pagan does not seem to espouse specific spiritual entities that it worships more powerful than Jesus Christ, the incarnate word of the Living God.
It's never about specifics, only some generalized pagan spirituality. What do these Gods want? What do they bring? If these Gods are so great, why have they lost everything?
Obviously we know the truth, that the Gods of the other nations were merely demons who were listening to the stories humans told and pretending to be Gods and Heroes from their tales. That's why any ordained Christian priest was able to banish them with a word, because the true God bestows that on his priests.
But these pagan larpers don't actually appear to even believe in these false Gods at any level at all. Christians who know that their Gods were demons believe in them more than they do.
@LukeAlmighty >first sentence is about Tel-Aviv University this is gonna be jewish lies innit seems like a bunch of "well, this doesn't work at all, other than as a tech demo, but imagine if it did"
@BowsacNoodle It's all good, I just don't have enough faith in my own ability to argue about things to participate in alot of them. I might try and state the Orthodox point of view if I think it's relevant or useful, but I try not to get into it with other Christians on here, since online discourse can rapidly deteriorate into shit flinging.
Atheists are a fundamentally irrational bunch and aren't going to be swayed to believe in God by anything I'll say to them. My Protestant upbringing resulted in me being an atheist for much of my life because it was so incoherent and made no sense to me growing up, so I do see where they are coming from when they describe how incoherent Christianity appears from the outside.
Without all of the apologetics and metaphysical reasoning I had consumed prior to being given a chance to be baptized, I likely wouldn't have taken this route. But there was a great deal of being argued out of atheism that I was exposed to before that that I can't really provide myself, so anything I try to say is just going to fall on deaf ears.
Even with Protestant family members I'm still very hesitant to talk about it in any forceful way, since I feel like someone who has only been back in the Church for three years trying to convince life long devout Protestants of errors in their reasoning comes off as prideful.
