Happy Mount St Helens Eruption Day to those who celebrate.
My all time favorite symphony to play remains Symphony No. 50, Op. 360, Mount St. Helens by Alan Hovhaness. It's not a terribly complex or challenging symphony to play but the third movement is very fun at least if you're in the symphony.
I'm not sure if I ever have heard it performed live as an audience member though. Maybe as a kid?
Also I think this might be the most epic photo of the eruption (by Dick Lasher) aside from the series of photos taken by Reid Blackburn and Robert Landsburg who both died.
