Forked Meadow has received over a half inch of precipitation today. Because it's been mostly snow, it's hard to say exactly how much since we don't have a way to accurately capture all of the snow in the precipitation count until it melts. And even then if it doesn't stay on the rain gauge funnel, it's lost to our weather station.
The Upper Providence Creek weather station run by UC Merced ( https://cdec.water.ca.gov/dynamicapp/QueryF?s=KUP ) is showing about an inch of precipitation. That station does do a good job of catching all of the snow but it is about 400 feet higher elevation and on the other side of the ridge (Forked Meadow is in the rain shadow of the ridge depending on the direction of the storm).
There's moisture in the forecast through tomorrow which probably will mostly be snow. Then the next chance is on Staurday.
This is a MUCH more wet April than I was expecting. It would be nice if we had a snowpack though... because even with this storm, it's hella bleak in California this year. Average precipitation but almost no snow.
