@ai6yr I mean back to the cult thing. Look at the state stats for people who need the ACA. While many red states suckle at the federal tax dollar teat they also have the most people that get help from the ACA but go on and on about welfare recipients and yet vote for the very people that take this stuff away. AT this point its not ironic just tragic and sad.
People who did not vote for this are also going to get hurt and badly
So our union has had two strikes in the 26 years I have been in it. 2000 and 2022. They were not one day affairs rather open ended 56 days in 2000 and a week in 2022.
TO send a message 1 day is fine to effect any change may need to be longer than that but 1 day would still be cool to see
As Always "They have the plant but we have the power"
@Godfrey642@futurebird@Dave_Goldsmith@raven667@Npars01 From a nursing standpoint, the rolling stuff does not seem to work. We are an independent union but the dominant large nurses union uses the 1 day strikes a lot.
For hospitals at least most can cancel electives and hold on for a day but open ended is much harder for them
I hear you and we struggle as well but in my direct experience (2 strikes 2000 56 days and 2022 5 days) it works and like you my wife is a nurse at the same facility so we get hit x2
@mcnado I got a really dumb question here and I’m not a lawyer nor do I play one on TV
Can they arbitrarily just hold a minor like that without contacting other family?
are they acting like some kind of Third World Junta and basically holding the four year-old as some kind of bait and how is that not kidnapping?
And is there something within the ADA that prohibits this kind of thing of people with disabilities?
I am a pediatric critical care, Transport nurse, and we have a lot of of our kiddos that we transport have autism and interrupting Their routines is devastating for them and their families. These jackbooted thugs may have set this kid back quite a lot simply with the trauma.
As I have said before, and I’m gonna say it again “I was just following orders “ has not been a thing since the Nuremberg trials
States are gonna have to take matters into their own hands since our brain worm dog eating imbecile in charge of our health has all but banned access to covid vaccinations
the reality is between the “Bible in the classrooms” and no healthcare some of these red states are going to be like fourth world countries that we own.
@ai6yr so growing up there was his PBS show that would literally start with one topic like canned food and then literally meander through history and you’d end up discussing Caesars campaigns….. it would all be linked kind of like a historical 6° of Kevin Bacon.
I have followed your account for years on a variety of platforms and it’s always been a blast to watch you meander through such a diverse variety of topics. I did not have dying on my 2025 bingo card lol
@ai6yr I mean to be fair I guess they didn’t know, but m the snow in the Wizard of Oz etc was literally asbestos so they had a pretty casual attitude about this stuff
This is simply false IMHO. Like nurses we do not pay MD's enough. Yes a few like surgeons etc do on paper make a lot. However, most Docs do this because they like helping people not because its lucrative.
This may have been true when Quincy was prowling the lounges in the 70's. Most MD's AFTER they finish school (during which they are used as indentured servants by their medical schools) enter their career $3-400,000 in debt having put their lives on hold for 10 years for school
The fallout from the recent bill passed by MAGA will have a profound impact in those very deep red communities that helped get us to this point
"Kentucky, North Carolina, Virginia, Illinois, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Oklahoma, Missouri, Minnesota, and Louisiana. Kentucky would experience the largest rural Medicaid spending reduction"
Maga imbeciles will point to NY, but as with CAs non coastal areas, upstate NY is quite conservative in places. These places, coupled with this ongoing hard on for "defunding" Planned Parenthood, which is the only rural OBGYN provider in many areas and uses a separate fund for abortions, will double down on this.
Plus once a hospital goes under the ripple effects will be generational as they will be unlikely to get the capacity back and the community it serves will force them to drive hours for even primary care. Plus many providers will stay away from communities with this prevailing mentality. #politics#healthcare#medicare
