@PNS@noauthority.social Next time he's in court he should ask for witness protection ==> Poinr Roberts, WA.

Then could sneak over the border into Vancouver to do his thing with a new degree of stealth!

@Oven_Operators_LU_88@nicecrew.digital It is said that we shot our own planes down. Well... "we" (the Kuwaitis) did.

    Conspiracy discussion season now open!
Most likely story tho' is that we pooched our own planes.
I bet those pilots are hopping mad.

@mischievoustomato@tsundere.love @sun@shitposter.world @SuperDicq@minidisc.tokyo I think Openclaw and others are mostly about the tools they connect to, with help from the AI and feedback to the continued AI conversation.

Kinda nice. Very similar to start to the fictional "Box" from Starcops, 1989.

i.e. I like the model very much and have been thinking about it a lot since 2023. What needs to change is ease of installation, availability to "anyone" and small-company productization, (which I hope is still possible)

The 4060TI is pretty power-efficient and am thinking that it and similar GPUs make it a "good enuf" platform for local deployments.

@lolitechengineer@loli.church @sun@shitposter.world @SuperDicq@minidisc.tokyo The spoiled brats need that. For what I'm planning you need 12gb of RAM and something like a 4060TI. For consumer product you can't burn power and you can't always be connected. I f you do that, most ppl will not buy your product / perceive any real value.

Keep in mind that in the west most normal people want products that cause them to be "less connected" now. We're all oversaturated with "Internet," young and old.

@SuperDicq@minidisc.tokyo @icedquinn@blob.cat @sun@shitposter.world @meeper@udongein.xyz I think it was Eric Drexler who indicated (c1987) that in the future the first with a product would charge a lot then once democratized the price would gradually drop toward zero, addressing the duplication curve, which maybe started with books+tapes moved to memory, now AI and in the future the original topic- nanotechnology.

I think copyright is damaged, but not yet dead.

@sun@shitposter.world @SuperDicq@minidisc.tokyo Yes indeedie I think we all know that openai or claude on a great GPU are just dandy... but the local models are "good enough" to build horizontal product already.

Also, many robotic AI tasks can be done at home with fallback to the cloud. I mean it's pretty obvious.

A lot of systems are going to REQUIRE fallback to local models so please think about that when you're designing AI products in the near term for use at home.

@sun@shitposter.world @SuperDicq@minidisc.tokyo Not true, really, for those of us in the US who can extrapolate/have some modicum amount of imagination.

Definitely true if you've become a slave to the big ai modules / are trapped in lockstep greater Asia.

@sun@shitposter.world @SuperDicq@minidisc.tokyo Well I'm guessing you can install ollama on an Android/Termux + bypass OpenAI... can run the pieces wherever you like. So it can be "distributed" however it suits you.

@capt_whitebeard@nicecrew.digital Seems like yes. But what I'm saying is even if the guy was a super-duper-wont-hurt-a-fly-nice-guy-normie whatever carrying a gun, the responsibility for what happened was still his.

He should have backed away knowing he was packing- so imho there shouldn't even be a trial.

So best case - it was Pretti's fault.
Worst case - it was Pretti's fault.

@Dudebro@nicecrew.digital Yes. But Pretti shouldn't have been in there trying to "help" a collapsed woman... knowing he was carrying a handgun. A normal person carrying would back off and be thinking "duhhh, I wish I hadn't brought this stupid thing with me. Otherwise I could try to help that old woman!"

Bad decision. ICE agent action was correct I think in this case based on what he knew.

I'm not a big fan of ICE agents just seems like the guy was asking for trouble.

Hmm... imho if I were attending a peaceful politcal demonstration I would not carry a handgun. That's the kind of thing a sane person leaves at home.

If he wasn't carrying a handgun and ICE shot him dead I think the protesters would then have reason to file suit, etc. That he was carrying puts the potential for cause of error on the dead guy.

Seems like a case of death due to poor judgment on Pretti's part, no?

@PNS@noauthority.social It's a good idea to keep Black+Decker minivacs and such in places where flames can't catch easily!

I just did a surgical strike in mine, replacing those cells [coz I get them for free]. When you open those up and see how they're put together you really realize how easily things can go wrong.

And I haven't even checked out the video yet!

@inscius@noauthority.social I think Danmark is an innocent bystander, with Trump reviving the Truman-era plan to "buy Grønland" being a ploy. At the time, the US kinda "had" Newfoundland and Churchill had during the war ceded Canada to the US, which was then walked back by a similar group of angry Candian politicans, causing US troops to be pushed back to camps in Edmonton and umm... Calgary.

Newfoundland was a big deal and I think just after chiner grabbed the country of Tibet, Canada in similar spirit suddenly annexed Newfoundland (after US servicement took all their young women!)

But I think for Señor Trump and his Trumpettes, what matters is plunging NATO into some level of incongruity. If he got Grønland, it would be as a bonus... but I don't think he ultimately cares, like Truman did, if it becomes part of the US or not.

A precise yet broad goal shall be to get everyone to fall for a taste, an odor, of incongruity, to push NATO aside or at least diminish trust and effectiveness. I can only guess the reason is to push the US out of dependence on the world. Tho' I also think Trump just disses anyone or any country that has in the past insulted him. You could say for him, that's a bonus.

Weird, but I'm entertained and at least that's well... something isn't it? Like earthquakes, there is nothing I can do about it so prefer to find it upon myself to be entertained, probably due to lack of sobriety! Whelp, gotta get back to my Jack Daniels...

@inscius@noauthority.social Apparently an attack on Grønland would terminate NATO. Well, that puts things in a different light.

If true, then it's about higher-level machinations + intrigue!
In any case I find it entertaining, if not interesting.
