Since people today consider history not worth learning, they are apparently unaware that wars & the black death decimated economic growth and made workers so scarce they could & did form guilds (unions) to control the market and demand better wages & working conditions. Muskrat et al think they can do the opposite - throw so many people out of work they'll be begging for sub-living wage jobs as AI does most of what would have been high paid work.

They sent this email to me, indicating a change was made. The link goes to an error page. As I posted a few minutes ago, the online SSA portal no longer functions.

I have thought for a while now that we are witnessing the end of the internet as a useful tool for anything. It's only real function now is for communication by closed, invitation only, special interest groups, families, or organizations. Literally nothing else is trustworthy now. Ads are scams, articles are fake and wrong, search will not show you what you need, just what they're trying to push. It's useless.

Cities could pass ordinances prohibiting programming any vehicle to break the law, including speed limits, and impound all unmanned vehicles that do so - by whatever means (damages the vehicle? Too bad.) Someone would have to personally come pay the fines to get it out of impound, and that someone would have to sign a contract of *personal* liability for the vehicle's actions to get it released.

Problem solved.

Don't forget, to them, every educated child is a future enemy.
