@judgedread @p it's hard to overstate just how bad MS software is getting
even drawing a box on the screen or moving the mouse pointer is apparently too hard now -

@IlDuWuce @TrevorGoodchild Yes - Double slit experiment. If you don't observe which slit electrons go through you get an interference pattern. If you do observe, you don't. The NPC here is incapable of observing or Noticing.
Part of the enjoyment of a joke is the little reward you feel at 'getting' it because it makes you feel like part of an in group. This is a patrician banger because one needs to understand both the online NPC meme and remember a physics course that 95% of people never take in the first place. -

@sickburnbro @TrevorGoodchild I took a catacomb tour in Vienna, Austrian guide with German tourists. He showed two chambers full of bones and explained that they needed space, so they made prisoners and prisoners of war clean the bones of flesh and stack them.
'Here (points to very neatly-stacked pile) you can see the bones the Germans cleaned, and here (points to jumbled random mess) you can see the work of the Austrians.' -

@p @judgedread Fun geek fact: zinc sulphide doped with manganese is one of the most efficient phosphors discovered and is stable, well understood, and cheap. It happens to emit an amber color, which is why you see amber monochrome displays.
Given a choice, green is the preferred monochrome display color because the human eye is most sensitive to it, which is why all the non-amber monochrome displays are green. -

@judgedread "It's like that time in Harry Potter when..."
It is still astonishing to me what percentage of the midwit's world view is informed by casual fictional media consumption, vs. observation of and reflection upon the real world. -

@judgedread @DailyStormerDigest Or there was not a Shapiro 2028 deal and he's annoyed at being bypassed for Walz.
Putting Shapiro on the ticket would have covered any level of PA fraud. I still can't fathom what they thought Walz brings to the table.
