@chris I'm so sad about this merger. It should have never happened but the regime took a large bribe from Cap1 and let it through. https://www.citizen.org/article/corporate-enforcement-trump-tracker/ Discover was a Chicago company that employed a ton of people long term and even opened a call center in Chatham instead of outsourcing that work to low paid people in another country with weak labor laws. Our country is so sad.
@danirabbit Corporate Democrats are more aligned with the Confederate GOP than the left. Who cares what the voters want when you can easily trick them with propaganda while getting rich off the same scam together.
@skinnylatte Mississippi is already heavily subsidized through federal taxes compared to most states. Mississippi and the South have serious issues due to our failed reconstruction. Where are you hearing Americans think Britain is more poor than Mississippi? I wouldn't imagine anywhere in Europe is as poor as Mississippi. There are some very dire situations in that state. Even the largest city in the state fails to provide safe drinking water.
@skinnylatte@crzwdjk I know that UAW has endorsed economic protectionism but that is not because the members are leftists it is because they are economically self interested. Teachers unions tend to have a more diverse workforce including left perspectives. Peak union density was when the US was over 90% white and the unions that remain are mostly allowed to exist for legacy reasons, they are extremely limited and unfairly regulated. What you're saying like sounds like Democrats not leftists.
@skinnylatte Say what you will about liberals but that doesn't sound like a left position. The left is concerned with employers abusing the H1B program to drive wages down and create precarity for their employees in general. Our system has created a terrible situation for workers on behalf of oligarchs through years of corruption where many people are very close to desperation. Sorry if this is offensive but if you didn't know I hope you can consider this perspective.
@crzwdjk I understand her situation and I'm glad it worked out for her. I have no problem with foreign workers. My point is it is not anti immigrant to be unhappy with employers in the United States because they have been very aggressive in disenfranchising their employees and US residents in general. I think her post triggers me because everyone loves punching down on the left. Sabotaging the left really hasn't worked well for us here in the US.
@QasimRashid The leader of the corporate Democrats Schumer said his job is to keep the Democratic party pro Israel against the will of their constituents and so far the Senate has failed to remove him from leadership. Corporate Democrats are part of a undemocratic single party aligned with Republicans to serve oligarchs.
@skinnylatte I'm glad Americans are being exposed to different development patterns through YouTube. The generic American suburb is inefficient, short sighted, and will be a massive burden on us as they decline. The poor rural areas in our country are also truly upsetting. What's your problem with it anyway? Everywhere has tradeoffs but we could do so much better and this content expands the overton window.
@chris Yeah non lts releases aren't really worth it unless you gave a specific need. Not sure I'm interested in the 13" one unless it's a really good deal.
@skinnylatte Chicago is somewhere between the two. Quality of life is high and expense is way lower. Also more genuine people. Definitely recommend checking us out if you haven't yet.
@chris I highly recommend a variety of rain gear such as ponchos, umbrellas, rain jackets, waterproof pants and shoes. Then just go do the thing and forget about the rain.
@chris particle board and doors aren't a good combination. You can find better stuff at IKEA but you have to know how to look. Used wood dressers are best if you're on a budget. They'll be a pain to move though.
