@ChallengeApathy@toriver@QasimRashid I would fully agree with you if Supreme Court justices lived in isolation chambers completely separate from public opinion or <gestures wildly at the world>.
If elections keep reps and senators (at least somewhat) beholden to the public, why don't elections do the same for justices?
@ChallengeApathy@toriver@QasimRashid The Colorado state Supreme Court is appointed but each member has to win retention votes to remain on the court. 6 of 7 current judges have won retention elections. So, while not elected in the traditional sense, they are supported by the voting public.
This month, the Locksmith team discovered people are actually using Mode 4 (auto-remediation) in the wild. To be honest, we let Mode 4 languish because none of us would trust a fully automated remediation tool... even if we wrote it!
But since it's being used, we should definitely improve it. The new Mode 4 is much more explicit about what the issue is, why it's an issue, and how it will be remediated. Lastly, the Operational Impact is spelled out in plain language and color coded so it's more obvious when a fix may negatively impact operations. (see attached image)
After Locksmith is done fixing stuff on your behalf, you'll get an indicator that it's done instead of just dropping back to the console.
We also resolved some output issues (fewer duplicates), false positives (bitwise math is weird), and cleaned up the scripts used to build the project.
@InfoSecSherpa I had to re-read this three times before I realized you weren’t still talking about the hand lotion. It may be too early for the internet.
@KimCrayton1 I'm not diagnosed, but this happens to me ALL the time. I've learned to ride the lightning when it strikes but let it go as soon as I realize it's gone and not coming back.
@pancake Slides should just be guideposts for a live talk. The 90% comes out of your mouth. But if you're planning on sharing the slides after the talk, put your 90% in the Notes. Then those that didn't get to see the talk (live or recorded) can still get the most out of it.
