They are, but it's usually only after the realization hits they flew too close to the sun.
Waited too long to focus on making a family, passed up a good man trying to land a better one, slept around and found out that "keeper" men don't want women with a high notch-count.
The regret hits them like a dump-truck of bricks, and they generally end up with an army of pets and a serious substance habit to cope with the realization.

I had a few hook-ups before I met my wife. I always felt shitty afterwards but it took years to really understand why. I didn't really grasp the full depth of what I was doing at the time. (19, juiced up on sports and testosterone). Later in life, (after my daughter was born) I realized I injured all those women I used for sex.
I don't have many regrets I would undo. But I can think of three ladies I hurt pretty bad, and if I could take that back, I would.
