@prettygood Paul Newman once said: “A man without enemies is a man without character,” but never mind that. I hope your week turns out great.
Also, what did Alex Jones actually say in that clip? Was he really talking about ducks?

@prettygood You don't have to be annoying just because everybody else is. (To make myself clear: I don't think you're annoying, but seeing people with an endless list of pinned posts is. They seem to me like an old band living off their greatest hits.)
@wolf480pl As far as heroes go, I have only read the source code of Don Knuth, and I must say that, while I found it a bit weird in parts, it was definitely quality stuff.
@p Correction: Klingon was rejected by those motherfuckers. I don't know about elvish. I don't follow that fandom.
@kaia Have you watched _Hereditary_?
@newt While rms sports certain problematic views on sex (mostly out of ignorance, I assume), I see that a lot of his quotes there are grossly and deliberately misinterpreted by people with very poor reading comprehension skills.
Why do they hate him so much, anyway? Why do they find him so dangerous?
@fluidlogic To me, it was the MSX2, but I’m biased, because that’s what I grew up with. That said, I could compare it with the Spectrums and the Amstrad CPC, and I still stand by my Philips VG-8235.
Thrown exceptions are just socially acceptable gotos.
@vaartis Thanks for the spoiler. I wanted to read the novel eventually.
@vaartis Is it good? Is it worth it?
@vaartis It’s ok. I prefer Russian books to movies in general.
@vaartis I do have Anna Karenina in Russian, but I can’t speak a word of it, so… Actually, maybe it was Ukrainian and I could never tell. (It was given to me by an Ukrainian friend many years ago.)
If I ever visit Russia, I’ll buy everything Dostoievski and some Chekhov. If you have more recommendations, please let me know.
@genmaicha QOTO’s creator, @freemo, is looking for programmers. If you know Java, you probably should get in touch with him.
@coolboymew Is it just me or there is a trend lately of drawing female characters that look like boys wearing wigs?
@coolboymew A few days ago, you complained about some character design and, when I saw the screenshots you posted, I thought the same thing.

@freemo I used ‘believing’ on purpose. It’s some sort of irrational, almost pathological, quasi-religious and childish notion. Their heads probably work like this: “If I can’t see them, that means I’ve defeated them. I’m a hero(ine). The world is a safer place thanks to me.”
@freemo For some reason, believing they had the last word makes them think they won the discussion. That also explains the reaction of the covid dude earlier today.
@lina I wasn’t really bothered. The point of my OP was to counter the narrative that the Fediverse was a better platform just because. (Remember the “Twitter without the nazis” slogan?) No, a platform is as good as the people who use it, and people on Fedi are not exactly the cream of the crop, me included.
