@CedarTea I once talked to a marxist-leninst about this, and he argued that the structure can and should fight against the natural cliques, dishonesty etc. He stated that hierarchies form naturally and having official positions means adding transparency to these hierarchies, which is better for people that aren't able to navigate the web of invisible social rules that would arise in lieu of a formalised structure.

He linked to a paper that made these arguments in the context of the women's liberation movement that I'll link to you if I can find it.

I found this super interesting, is there anarchist theory on how to prevent the soft hierarchies from forming (cliques etc)?
