@BeAware Ahh yeah, I’ve had to try to ignore a lot of that on here. Lots of people getting very aggressive in their opinions one way or the other. I try not to wade out too far in those waters, there’s way too many sharks.

@BeAware If you’re talking about Eugen Rochko, I feel like I see negative posts about him all the time. Plenty of people that have strong opinions about him here it seems.

@WarnerCrocker Didn’t they pull it so they could dedicate more time to covering the shooting? Not that I agree with that, but I don’t think it really had much to do with the content of the show vs them squeezing as much viewers as possible out of this incident while it’s still fresh.

Which at this point is not even the case. Ditto can work with the official Mastodon client, but they've confirmed themselves in Nostr posts it's not working with other Mastodon apps. I attempted to use it with Mona for iOS and the nsec bunker login never works. Not sure why that is.

@BeAware @marathon @Gargron Any other specific fediverse platforms you're actively looking at? I've tried a few, but keep coming back to Mastodon as it seems to be the most mature with features that I care about.

@youronlyone Alright, fine, I'm checking it out and using it to see how it is. Very first impressions? It's Nostr that feels like Mastodon, which is nice.

Now to figure out this stupid nsecbunker bullshit so I can login "securely" with a iOS Mastodon app. Nostr is still Nostr in this regard. Ugh.

@BeAware @protonprivacy There’s a free tier that’s actually pretty good. Their paid tier includes additional 2FA options, unlimited hide-my-email aliases, and dark web monitoring.

I still find Bitwarden to be superior (their free and paid tier) but the fact that Proton Pass has only been around a year and they’re pretty close speaks a lot to the amount of effort they are putting into it.

I really tried to use it for a while just to see if I'd get past the initial crap phase of all the "Bitcoin is life" accounts and far-right conspiracy nuts, but I could never find anything redeeming there. At least in its current state. But I don't see how it grows past that with the user base that's on it now.
