   What happened when I visited the web version of the account I mentioned in my last toot- it wants to immediately download something. I've never seen anything like this on #Mastodon before. Is momostr.pink a dodgy instance? Maybe @FediTips can help? #fediblock? #fedihelp!

     @Peternimmo @FediTips it's a bridge to Nostr. Just like Fedi, you shouldn't click on dodgy links with weird extensions.... .bin doesn't seem like something I'd normally be clicking on....😳

     @Peternimmo @FediTips haha. For sure. Mostly, accounts there are safe and the bin file is probably harmless, but just to be safe, don't try to open it.

     There ARE major assholes there. Hate speech and the like, but that's on Fedi too and I doubt you'll come across them naturally.

     @xepher @Peternimmo @FediTips there's BEEN a bridge to Nostr for awhile. First with Mostr.pub Then with Momostr.pink. I've been bridged for about 4-6 months AFAIK.

     @BeAware @Peternimmo @FediTips Oh, dude, it's Bitcoin there all the way down.

     I really tried to use it for a while just to see if I'd get past the initial crap phase of all the "Bitcoin is life" accounts and far-right conspiracy nuts, but I could never find anything redeeming there. At least in its current state. But I don't see how it grows past that with the user base that's on it now.
