@SuperDicq I went to see it on Sunday morning and it was insanely bad. Kids liked it though. I gave them a 10 minute run down on all the ways it sucked but I don't know if they were convinced.
@pinhman Phones get really hot when they're in the sun and running all day, so a lot of people (including me) have them mounted on the vent to the air conditioner to keep them cool. The air blowing on the speaker renders the microphone inoperable. You could get everyone wearing earplugs I suppose, but I just don't think it's necessary.
@pinhman@dyckron If they were going to make such a law workable, all such gig apps would have to be redesigned. As they exist currently, it's just not feasible to pull over everytime you want to tap a button to accept a job.
I don't think it's necessary anyway, as long as all you're doing is tapping to accept a job and the phone is properly mounted on the dashboard. Before Uber was around, taxi drivers would press a button to accept a job while they were driving.
GOOD news: Docklands library rocks. Spent the afternoon playing table tennis there with friends and kids and it was great. They have a recording studio and musical instruments too! I think it's the best library in #Melbourne
BAD news: Some bastard spray painted my car overnight. This is fifth time it's been vandalised. Previously it's been vomited on, someone's tried to force open the fuel cap and steal petrol, and fog lights have been stolen twice. :( It feels like people have it in for me.
TV show about Chris Knox in Southern India. “In this instalment of travel show Intrepid Journeys, iconoclastic musician Chris Knox (The Enemy, Toy Love) visits Southern India.”
@strypey Thinking about deleting my whatsapp account but it would cause problems. Wish I never signed up to it in the first place. I’m always telling people to sms or email instead.
I use delta chat for email sometimes but I got a really negative response when I suggested it to other people.
@DoomsdaysCW Heavy metals are a problem when applying bio waste to agricultural soils. I think we should be extracting the phosphate from sewage as struvite and using that as fertiliser.
