@NoDoxGregBrady@ThePoastmasterGeneral@JollyR I'm serious. I don't mean all Americans are dumb, I mean valley girl #8971238 had something explained to her by someone smart one day and just started using it and the next thing you know valley girl #7672333 started, and then a whole herd of valley girls were using it.
@NoDoxGregBrady@ThePoastmasterGeneral@JollyR I actually think it's why Americans started using the word "like" in every sentence, because it turned into a meme they heard smart people saying "It's like..." when explaining things to them.
@BrazilianContrarian@Honkers@disclosetv I think the rorting for shit happens all over the industries though. At least here. I remember decades ago, we had major flooding in Queensland and the price of bananas soared because it mostly hit those crop areas near the coast.
And even years later, they never brought the prices back down after. You know? They just went "Well people are used to this price now, so we'll leave it there."
I was in a coma for a month, got hospital acquired pneumonia - It was literally the sickest I have EVER been - so - 1 month of pneumonia did that.
They had to use this weird machine on me, that over-inflates your lungs for a few seconds, then when the pressure comes off - all the liquid is expelled (or at least some of it). I went through that a whole bunch, because I was very much in danger of drowning. And that was while I was still recovering from the coma.
It was absolutely the worst thing I have ever experienced.
@Snidely_Whiplash Yeah I remember when they were intubating EVERYONE and Trump said "We can't get enough ventilators" and that was killing all the elderly etc - having been intubated myself now, I understand why.
It's WAY more invasive than it seems.
Imagine being 80, getting covid, being intubated and then that starts you down the road of pneumonia - of course they were fucking dying.
@Owl@Turdicus@cowanon@d0c40r0 I actually think a lot less race mix than previously thought, however, there are some really hard to understand things they do do.
