@datarama@mcc I don't see how it would be up in the air. Humans feed that data into AI and use the churned remains so it's still a human violating the copyright.
@tokyo_0@trumpet 🤷 Even if I was, it probably wouldn't be a good idea to use an instance where people were doing that anyway. I found another instance that banned Threads though, and if approved I likely will move my account there in the next few days.
@tokyo_0@trumpet I signed up for an account there and the other users warned me that's what was going on. I deleted my mas.to account promptly afterwards. 🤷
So I want to leave .social for a better server that doesn't federate with Threads, but the ones on the fedipact website either actually do federate with Threads anyway (looking at you mas.to) or they're invite-only. :(
@joeo10 I think about all the simps arguing in favor of federating with Threads and I wonder how much they were being paid an hour. How much Zuck bribed the admins of the popular fedi servers to just let his goons do that with no consequences.
@PacificNic@VeeRat@novid Well, it's an endemic disease and likely will always be with us like all the others. Vaccines will improve and covid has already evolved to be less deadly, so there's that.
It's human nature that's the problem. People only caring about survival, the ape-like dominance behavior, the extreme selfishness, the hypocrisy, the lies, all of that shit that was made undeniable by humanity's reaction to covid. That's what can't be vaccinated away.
@PacificNic@VeeRat@novid Speaking as someone who protested the lockdowns and saw how horrific everyone acted during covid, it makes me sad to see that the animalistic aggression and immaturity never went away. How hard is it to be honest about the true nature of a disease?
I have to say, I am deeply, deeply disappointed in Lemmy as a community and as a platform. Lemmy clearly doesn't live up to its promise for a better and more equitable user experience. So let's give Mastodon a try.
