An excellent response to that horrible NPR article where the woman author thinks missing out on restaurant dining is just as serious an issue as her husband potentially becoming further disabled by Long Covid.

"This article is not merely an upsetting look at an individual’s victim-blaming mindset about her husband’s indefinite exclusion from public spaces. It is a piece of propaganda intended to further the perception that demands for COVID mitigation are unreasonable complaints, rather than critical activism for basic public health infrastructure."

@VeeRat @novid "Therefore, as Long COVID patients become louder, as their presence becomes more undeniable, as their numbers grow, the COVID normalization project must pivot from attempting to disappear these victims to steadily stigmatizing them."

This is absolutely what is going on and it's fucking dangerous. It's dangerous to all of us.

@pinkdrunkenelephants @VeeRat @novid COVID is not over. The aggression against the victims of the ongoing pandemic is the logical conclusion to the anti-lockdown, anti-vaxx, anti-mask mentality.

@PacificNic @VeeRat @novid Speaking as someone who protested the lockdowns and saw how horrific everyone acted during covid, it makes me sad to see that the animalistic aggression and immaturity never went away. How hard is it to be honest about the true nature of a disease?

@PacificNic @VeeRat @novid Well, it's an endemic disease and likely will always be with us like all the others. Vaccines will improve and covid has already evolved to be less deadly, so there's that.

It's human nature that's the problem. People only caring about survival, the ape-like dominance behavior, the extreme selfishness, the hypocrisy, the lies, all of that shit that was made undeniable by humanity's reaction to covid. That's what can't be vaccinated away.

@pinkdrunkenelephants @VeeRat @novid You are so deeply incorrect about the current situation, I couldn't even begin to have a conversation with you about it.
