@feld Why would you post a link and not actually read the information at that link? You are making a LOT of assertions despite not having even a fraction of the facts correct.
If you make assertions, and present links claiming that they back you up… it’s not anybody else’s job to screenshot your own sources for you. Be an adult and read before you link to something. Or just be proven wrong by posting links you didn’t bother to read thoroughly. Which seems to be what you’re happy to keep doing,
@feld YOU posted the link to the court docket. Go to your own link and actually READ it. Are you too lazy to do so? You would rather make false assertions instead of reading the information at a link YOU provided. Wow.
@feld I found lots of answers to all these questions just by reading the case. I recommend you do the same, because you are just digging yourself deeper and deeper.
Some people reported their situation to plaintiff(s) in the case. At least one went public, talking to NPR.
You claim that there are no names of affected parties in the court documents. That’s wrong, I’m looking at 2 right now.
The defendants refused to release info. So it became the job of the plaintiffs to try and find affected people. They managed to find a few, and provided that evidence in the case… But there is little doubt there are many more affected who either weren’t found, or didn’t want to come forward.
Seriously, try actually reading instead of starting with a preconceived notion and sticking to it no matter how much evidence is presented to you.
@feld You are either truly dedicated to spreading a lie, or just really bad at reading. In the initial court filing you linked, you can see why the names of disenfranchised voters aren’t available. The state of Virginia hasn’t released the info, which the plaintiffs point out. Read the first document in the docket, section 30.
I am suspicious not of people trying to protect their rights, but of somebody dedicated to spreading mistruths. What motivation is there for your campaign of disinformation? Paid by Trump’s campaign or a PAC perhaps? Please let us know. Thanks.
@feld Election disinformation is a serious problem. I take it seriously and I’m calling it out wherever it appears. Everybody that reads your post now knows that it’s false, and they can read the linked article for proof.
@feld Here’s a quote from that article: “At least 18 U.S. citizens were wrongly scrubbed from the voter rolls since the new policy took effect, according to voting rights groups including the League of Women Voters of Virginia that filed a lawsuit on Oct. 7 in federal court challenging the purge.‘ Refusing to read the article does not excuse you from spreading lies.
@feld This is a blatant lie. You know it is because you were told in other posts. Disinformation is not welcome in the fediverse, so fair warning: this will be reported.
@feld@augieray@BalooUriza “First they came for the socialists…”. Maybe you should look up the rest of that. I heard an interview with a woman who had her voting rights stolen by this Virginia initiative. If you checked the wrong box at the DMV when renewing your license, they can claim you aren’t a citizen anymore. Then the law requires them to send you a letter. If you don’t reply in 14 days, they revoke your registration! In her case (and many others) they moved and the letter didn’t get forwarded. Voting rights stolen, on purpose. If anything, we are UNDER reacting to this.
@NaClKnight@sand I feel like this situation is a big deal, but falls into two massive Fedi blind spots at the same time. BTW, I can link to a video on Elon’s site, but I know people here hate that (I hate Elon too but not sure where else to get the video from). If anybody has another link for the vid, or wants me to post it anyway, let me know.
I know #sportsball isn’t a big deal in the Fediverse, but here is a glaring example of how bad racism is among police officers. #TyreekHill , an all-star #NFL football player, got violently taken out of his car, forced to the ground, and handcuffed for a traffic violation.
His teammate Calais Campbell (also black) came over to defend his teammate and ask what the cops were doing. So they handcuffed him too.
Tyreek was asked after the game about the mistreatment, and he said this: “‘What if I wasn’t Tyreek Hill?’ Like worst-case scenario. It’s crazy.”
@WearsHats@thezenlady@StillIRise1963@maya_b Exactly. The right-wing judges completely ignore the first half of the amendment. It says we need the militia for national defense. But America has a regular Army now (which it didn’t at the time of the 2A). We have the most powerful military in the world! This obviates the plainly stated reason for the right to bear arms. Therefore, the right is no longer applicable.
“They prepare you for these things,” a 15-year-old girl told the New York Times. “But in the moment, I started crying. I got nervous.”
She thinks she did something wrong because she got scared by a mass murderer shooting up her school. 🤬🤬
No kids should have to PREPARE for this. The adults should be doing everything possible to prevent it. Instead, we get a-holes like Brian Kemp, who bragged about passing a law in GA allowing guns to be carried without licenses or background checks, pretending to be sad today. He doesn’t give a flying F about those kids. Or he NEVER would have signed such a law.
@Nonilex How nice of him to provide evidence of the campaign’s illegal activity. When he loses, his campaign officials can go to jail, and this time he won’t be there to pardon them because he’ll be in the next cell over.
