It's a great site that uses historical train delay data to better estimate good train rates and realistic transfer windows between trains and such.

I've had it up to here with #josm using garbage AI furry image stuff for their homescreen. (this is coming from a furry myself btw)

For context: #JOSM (a very popular #OpenStreetMap editor) has in recent weeks been using ai images (seems like there's a new one every day) to raise awareness for their translation project. They want more translations to happen for the JOSM application.

@nemobis - the bridge for Thunderbird only works on desktop so it's not a solution for mobile.
- some people might not be able to install something on their PC so they can only use a browser or something

I don't know about those last parts but I don't think that has ever happened so far. Plus I think the bridge is downloadable through regular Linux repositories so I don't think you can make user specific downloads anyway

That can intercept regular email but they can't decrypt e2e email right? They're doing as much as they can but they obviously have to abide by the law.

Any emails sent before they had to install the tracker or whatever, are encrypted on the user account so can't be accessed.
But of course if that person receives a plaintext email then that can get intercepted

This year at #fosdem there is a new email that you can use to report any problems related to cleanliness or full bins or whatever:

We'll do our best to make sure it's handled asap.
Also toilets in general should be cleaner as we have a better system in place! 🤞
(Oh and the bins-overflowing problem in the street with the food trucks should also be fixed)

@anna it'd have to verify this but normally nav.fosdem.org has a navigation tool inside that allows one to choose 'wheelchair' and give it a route that is accessible by wheelchair.

@anna Are the main problems you're facing mainly to do with indoor or outdoor navigation? (or both).

I am also a volunteer with openstreetmap so I have some vague connections with people who do accessibility things and I know a company that can print braille maps and such. Would that help in some way?

FOSDEM is held at the ULB campus so it's partially ULB that needs to improve their accessibility as well?

(again, just asking for what could be done. I don't know enough about navigation for blind people to know what's possible)

(have been recommending Kagi even before I was a consultant for them, disclaimer).

But yeah, Kagi Ultimate makes a lot of sense. It's not perfect when compared to having some of these llm's directly. But considering you're getting the best search engine included, the price is hard to argue against.

@TTimo @lain personally I just upgraded for one month to try it out and then stuck with it. But yeah, I feel you.

I should mention that in the New year's celebration live stream they did mention that the lower tier plans are also going to get some basic level of access to the assistant iirc

If someone needs a simple (but with a decent ui for adding content and such) website. But isn't tech savvy.
What service would you recommend?
(Something like wix/squarespace/etc but not as bloated or expensive)
