@alfons234 hmmm. I guess more than I spend buying? Cause I already donate to a bunch of projects BUT then on top of that I also try to do a 'matching' thing. If I spend x amount on a service, i'll spend the same amount on an open source version.
So I pay for Youtube Premium (fight me), but I also donate the same to @peertube and @tilvids
@stefanlaser Someone who follows over a thousand accounts, this seems very interesting to me (I've always wanted to try an algorithm for mastodon but I hadn't thought about an email digest as it's interface) @youronlyone
@apps q: sorry if I'm just not finding the right setting (the app probably needs a search field for all the settings at some point) when replying to two people or more: when I start a reply, the other people mentioned in the conversation are added on a new line after where my cursor is. Instead of before. While I can see why some people prefer this behaviour, I personally would like to change it to all be before the cursor instead of after
Sorry for asking all these questions. I've been using Fedilab on the side to manage a shared account for an org. But didn't really like using it for my personal somehow.
Silly, but one of the major things that made me enjoy the app was the setting that makes each post have that border around itself (don't remember what setting this was) but now that each post is most separated, scrolling trough my timeline is much more pleasant
@apps I think i get it now. So it's mainly a "we don't want to overwhelm your home instance" than a "it's hard to implement" thing technically. Like if maasdon changed so that it have you the parent post in one api call. That's what you're waiting for? Fair enough
@apps Side question: I feel like another apps if I click on the notification button in the bottom bar of the app, it would trigger a refresh of the notifications. But fedilab doesn't do that. Wondering if that's just not implemented or if it's designed like that on purpose
@apps Also q: maybe it's just some setting I'm missing. Us is there away to Always show the context of a reply in the timeline?
(That still one of the main The things that I miss about the Bird app interface: if someone replied to a tweet, you can see the original tweet that was reply to without having to click it.)
@apps Hi Thomas, just wanted to mention that it can be very confusing for people that find the fedilab repo search and land on framagit. Which you archived. Maybe add a big message to the start of the readme there to point to codeberg?
(Also, fedilab.app footer still links to framagit as well)
@LunaFoxgirlVT yeah, I can imagine. Fair enough. Would be cool if there was some built in way that just bundled all posts from an hour and then offered that as a compressed file to download in bulk you know.
But that'll never happen, because like you explained yesterday, fediverse don't want any kind of centralization even if it's a search engine like this.
