We rightly consider driving under the influence an outrageous crime, but the logical corollary of this, in my view, is that being contentedly sozzled while on one's regular rail commute is practically a public duty.

@Shrigglepuss When I was looking to put together my current desktop I went to a local shop and the kids there honestly thought I was joking when I said I wanted something to last a decade. My last computer did 8 years and I only replaced it because I used to live by the sea, and I was down to my last working USB port due to rust.

Got the current one from a GNU/Linux specialist. Installing Debian was a dream. Didn't need a single non-free driver. How it should be.

@tregeagle Not initially, but as nobody would let me move for a while, all I could do was crack jokes. This is a goldmine that will keep me in material until the next stupid thing I do. I'm the comedy gift that keeps on giving.

Well that was a palaver. Went to my improv comedy class this afternoon. Brought it to an early conclusion by losing my balance, banging my head on the wall on my way down and covering myself in blood.

A lot of fuss later, I don't seem to require stitches; just superficial bruising and swelling, a couple of slight nicks, and deep embarrassment.

What are we going to do for an encore?

At least I got my first theatrical review. Well, technically my first incident report.

@BethanyBlack If I'm excited about a social interaction ("event" or "occasion" are terms too grand for anything I'm likely to be involved in), I find myself compulsively gaming it out and rehearsing all the witty banter I'm likely to require.

So when the curtain finally rises I'm struck dumb by sheer exhaustion and the feeling that I'm repeating myself.

(I've never sought a diagnosis of Asperger's or ADHD, because things are bad enough without having to leap to my feet and cry "trans bingo!")
