@dansup Not an instance host, but if I were I’d treat them as any other instance - by my instance’s federation rules.
It’d be interesting to know (and part of decision) if they’d support migrating off their instance, whether they push their own client (lock-in?) and if, where and how algo is implemented.
That said, I am hoping (and will advocate) that anyone in journalism, activism or who in general do not need corporate censorship or algorithms to avoid such instance as the plague.
@dansup Take it from this long time (prehistoric) CS graduate - the paper is neither a shield against imposter syndrome, nor is it necessary for teaching (yourself) programming. So many great resources these days!
The proof is in the work, and you’ve made yourself a great platform and community!
@evan Not just *social* desirability bias, but true desirability vs practicality. I’d love to take the train more often, but it lends itself best for travel to city centers and not for camping or roadtrips (by definition, of course, but also based on the smaller, more rural stops I’d like to make then).
@evan Qualified yes - it basically planted itself, probably a seed in a bird dropping, but in the wrong spot. So I dug it out and replanted a couple of meters further out. Have kept the tree since, about 20 years, the trunk is about 40cms diameter now… ?
