For the love of all that is holy, can you all please start using `<a>` for navigation and `<button>` for actions, not the other way around?
Please don't make me turn this into a blog post.
Signed, someone who couldn't right-click to "open in a new tab" when it mattered.
@annika Omg that dress is so cute and it looks so good on you, and your smile says you know it!
OK devs, this semantic thing has been bothering me for a while:
What is the difference between updating and upgrading requirements?
I've used these words interchangeably, but maybe that's not right.
I guess upgrading increases the version levels and updating changes the package list.
Not that it matters in daily life; I'm just curious.
💡 I made a joke about Comic Mono earlier, but it's actually a font worth visiting.
Several dyslexic developers told me that Comic Mono is a great programming font for them.
ℹ️ The benefit of Comic is that the letters have distinctive shapes, which helps to identify them.
You can try it yourself: it's open source!
@janneke I don't get your hate for browsers, but let's agree that there are software flavors for everyone.
@janneke On the other hand, the average user could not even fathom the idea of using programming code or a command palette.
The sad truth is that there are too many sites with terrible UX.
@Natanox @DrHyde @janneke News flash, the average technology user has no idea how these things work.
On one hand, the end user should not have to know about the internals of everything they use (like, I couldn't tell you the exact specs of my refrigerator).
On the other hand, it does make them more vulnerable to errors.
Hello, front-end developers. Here's your infrequent reminder to make websites that also work on browsers NOT Google Chrome.
Forcing anyone to use Google's glorified spyware is not cool.
@carnage4life Honestly, I'm only happy that we don't allow big tech to buy up every company like that—especially those who have already proven unworthy of our trust.
@aral Sounds like the kind of guy who has calculated how many people can die before lawsuits become too expensive.
@Gargron @grb090423 Feel free to toss her another compliment, I also love the photo and your wife’s skirt!
@Gargron @grb090423 Also, does it have pockets? It looks like it has pockets 😍
@Jonathanglick That's quite the firmware upgrade on Zuck 👀
@Jonathanglick Or maybe it's clever marketing, and he's setting himself up as the (anti-)hero compared to Elon Musk, who's actively seeking out the former. 🤔
