@cstross @KitsuneVixi @flexion last time I looked QEMU wasn't up to the task. Alas.

Yes, the bug is indeed in #MacPorts. Well, in the p5.34-devel-checklib port at any rate.

If #perl #XS is broken for you in Mac Ports then https://rt.cpan.org/Ticket/Display.html?id=157638 may be helpful.

Back in 2004 (yes, 2004, that's not a typo) I asked if support for the `lchown()` system call could be added to POSIX.pm, which is part of the #perl 5 core, so that I could use it in #rsnapshot and users wouldn't have to install the third-party Lchown.pm off the #CPAN. "Yes", people said, and it was.

20 years later I have finally created a PR to use the feature I asked for.

Do I win a prize for being the slowest programmer ever?

Home from the pub. Saw a #fox legging it down my road, looking over its shoulder at something that wasn't there, and it ran straight into a pillar box, thus proving that being successful while also being really really thick isn't just a human thing.

@simontatham @b0rk Iโ€™ve been using #git for over a decade and yesterday I learned about `git worktree` which is exactly what Iโ€™ve needed every day for the last four years.

Right, that's quite enough time spent remote-#debugging a weird #FloatingPoint edge case. Now time to watch rugby. My apologies to all the #Windows users who have to suffer this bug. Owing to your OS vendor's refusal to let authors use their proprietary platform, what would take me 5 minutes to investigate on Mac or Linux takes 2 weeks on Windows. Consider upgrading. To anything. Literally anything. I have recently proven that the international postal service is #TuringComplete, try that.

@dysfun You can't send mail from the US to Russia, but you can send mail from Russia to the US. Therefore a US Postal Service, a ะŸะพั‡ั‚ะฐ ะ ะพััะธะธ, and an airline can function as a diode. From diodes you can build a NAND or NOR gate, and from those you can build any other gate.

@kim_harding I have no opinion about the lorry driver and I've not read the article, but the enviro-hippies all had previous convictions for related crimes, and clearly scoffed at suspended or short sentences and community service. Their sentences, at least, seem reasonable.

@mjg59 OK, so we can spin this as systemd not caring about API compatibility, which is bad, on top of systemd trying to do far too much. which is also bad

@Natanox @janneke @mahryekuh I'm quite glad that we're finally progressing to the stage where a user doesn't need to know details about data storage that arose mostly because early operating systems were so primitive.
