    @SuperDicq @thatbrickster on the thickness: why even make the bloody things so thin when you end up having to push things outside the phone like so many phones do with the cameras, I actually had to get a case on my Galaxy A34 just to get the bloody phone to sit flush on the table because of the stupid cameras that stick out. JUST MAKE THE PHONE THICK ENOUGH TO HOLD ALL THE INTERNALS INSIDE!

    on gaming: tbf, if you have a controller you can emulate some nice games on a phone, especially now that most phones can quite easily run Dolphin at full speed

    @icedquinn @iska @lispi314 I believe LZMA still performs better for size in some situations, but it's not particularly common and it def starts crying with the kinds of compression you need for packages (many small files)

    @iska @lispi314 tbh even with an NVMe SSD, Python can handle compressing and decompressing zips quite quickly unless it's a particularly funky alg like lzma (but how many use lzma anyway? most zips I've seen are just a basic deflate)

    @SuperDicq @Polychrome I guess the old issues were more general "corporate social media being bad", meanwhile now Twitter is its own brand of awful that stands atop an even bigger pile of shit than most other corporate social media (except for Facebook, Facebook is arguably an even bigger pile of shit)

    @SuperDicq @radmin tbh the "trendy" languages seem to always br just whatever some corporate overlords decided would be good, C# is used a fair bit from what I've seen, but is it because dotnet is any good, or because Microsoft got their greasy hands all over the education system to ONLY teach their shit, and thus it's just cheaper for companies to stick to dotnet instead of using better tools and languages?

    Aalso a couple years ago Python and Ruby used to be all the rage, these days Ruby is almost exclussively old stuff that wasn't ported to something else, and Python is headed that way as well
