@roadriverrail I suggest that you include in the newsletter: what is Owncast and/or where is its home page. -- This would explain it to people like me who encounter the newsletter shared elsewhere.

Has anyone else avoided really learning Bash scripting for years because its syntax and idioms are so weird? And have you just stopped thinking about learning Bash since the super mega LLM free chatbots arrived?

I've lost count of how many computer languages I know, but I still only know how to order a sandwich and ask where the restroom is in Bash.

I program Bash in English with ChatGPT now.

I don't think you're joking about that, and it's good advice.

Be familiar with more than one system. Know what's out there. Find the thing that pisses you off the least.

True story: in my company, long ago and far away, this prank, perpetrated by our resident Jim Halpert, caused a hole in the wall.

@Vo if I remember correctly, some systems in current Boeing aircraft are still updated by loading a program or config file from a floppy disk -- or perhaps at this point by a solid state device acting as an off the shelf floppy drive connected to the floppy controller inside the computer locker.

@siina @Polychrome Dorsey and his Twitter lawyer went on Joe Rogan years ago and told Tim Pool with a straight face that Twitter's policy enforcement was nothing but fair and objective while Pool shared evidence to the contrary. Dorsey is useless at best.
