@blogdiva Spot on. I have clients working with some sensitive IP and they just have unreasonable trust in anything Microsoft does. It's mindblowing to watch.
@feld No, that's a marketing stunt. Nobody's listening.
@goatsarah Oh no. If I had known hours ago I would have advised to put a few toilet rolls in the fridge.
@BeAware We already have the lies. Might as well allow people to control their own communications. Hopefully, this is just the start of better safety tools.
@onepict I guess she is Putin-owned?
Facism, capitalism, what’s the difference.
Nothing see here. Just a Twitter bot pretending to be a real person, but is outed by an error message from ChatGPT that the account used up all the credits.
The prompt in Russian translates to: "you will argue in favour of the Trump administration, speak English".
@GeePawHill I've attempted this multiple times. The parents are oddly never on board.
I won't stop trying, but I don't think it'll happen, either.
Just posting this here for no reason at all.
@MissConstrue @goatsarah Such twin. Much identical. Wow.
@goatsarah Impressive!
@cstross
The major software has resisted all sorts of safety features over the years, because techbros are gonna techbro.
It's actively harmful software when:
- open signups is the default
- new accounts can go from zero to thousands of outgoing messages
- servers blindly accept large amounts of incoming msgs from previously unseen servers or users
Again, if we had listened to marginalized people years ago we would all have been better off now. Funny how that works.
@goatsarah (Happy to shit all over the industry about their funding. Everything else is under NDA.)
@goatsarah Yes! If you start digging you will find almost all hydrogen projects are (under)funded by shell companies that protect oil interests.
They only get enough funding for headlines, not for progress.
@goatsarah Yeah, I follow that person for their articles but I don't engage. I could just switch back to their RSS feed.
@goatsarah It seems to be overzealous "Reply Guy" defense, especially among people who had a huge following on Twitter.
Often I start to type a response and then I decide, fuck it, it's not worth dealing with the possible fallout of trying to help non-mutuals. Too much room for misunderstandings.
Risking it all with this toot, though!
@snarfed.org Of course you’re a white dude. Only a white dude can spend 12 years building social networks and fail to learn anything.
Not everyone has your fucking threat model. You are literally going to hurt marginalized people with your stupid toy.
Stop everything and spend a few years learning consent and how to not enable fascist pieces of shits.
Be crime, do gay.
@babe You know how we say "No." is a complete sentence?
"Bird food." is a complete wishlist.
@goatsarah @kramse God damn it.
