I think little describes humanity as well as the fact that after Finding Nemo and Finding Dory were released sales of tropical fish skyrocketed. Literally two films about how horrible it is to keep animals confined.

@BeAware @NaClKnight what does any of that have to do with my body??
@BeAware @NaClKnight My body? What? Linux?? The same as what? What are you even talking about?
@BeAware @NaClKnight If I can open the link to the post in a browser in which I'm not signed in and see the true number of likes and boosts, then it should absolutely be possible. Simple even. That data is right there.
I saw a post on here the other day that had 1 like and two boosts and the author replied to themselves saying "so this is what it's like have a viral post." Confused, I decided to open the post in a browser where I'm not signed in. Apparently, the post ACTUALLY had over 1,200 boosts.
I feel like this is something the #Mastodon folks should probably fix at some point. I mean, fix the racism stuff first. But then fix this.
@GreenSkyOverMe Are... are there friendly cryptids? Because all the ones I've heard of are absolutely TERRIFYING and I don't want to see them in the woods.
@inthehands Extremely same. My own special heartbreak is the use of "jealous" when a person means "envious" (and vice versa). But alas, as you point out: languages evolve.
I'm obviously not the arbiter on what is or isn't antisemitic hate speech. But I keep seeing vague claims that the protests have been making antisemitic chants, etc. I can't find any details on these supposed chants.
Clearly antisemitism is bad and wrong. But is this just one of those cases where anti-zionism is being mislabeled? Or is there seriously a problem with antisemitism in these protests?
@seachanger They didn't, but I'd read that elsewhere. She's legit!
In this segment, they were distinguishing between the 3 Dem candidates: Schiff is pro-genocide (I may be paraphrasing), Porter is "in the middle", and then this bit about Lee.
Just heard NPR describe Barbara Lee as "really far to the left" and then support that description by playing a sound bite of her saying "killing 25,000 civilians; it's catastrophic and it will never lead to peace". ๐คฆ
I'd like to live in a world where "killing innocent people is wrong" isn't an extremist view.

@inthehands A good rule of thumb that has helped me with lifestyle bloat: All windfalls and raises in salary are divided as follows: 1/3 to savings, 1/3 to debt, 1/3 to spend as I please.
@Polychrome PDX = Portland, Oregon USA. It's tagged in the OP.

Gender is made up.As @SRLevine puts it: "Favorite stars don't cost money and can make someone smile (or at least feel seen) so I use them often. I'm not being weird at you specifically, I'm being weird at everyone." Unless... ๐
